2007 Law Requires Headlights on with Wipers

As of January 28, 2007, Pennsylvania State Law requires motorists to turn on their headlights anytime their vehicle wipers are in continuous or intermittent use due to weather conditions. Daytime running lights are not enough and tail lights must be illuminated as well.

Motorists who do not comply with the law could face a fine of $25, but with fees and other associated costs, the penalty approaches $100.
Accidents happen everyday, especially when heavy rain plus mist or fog comes along. Motorist have poor visibility putting other vehicles and pedestrians in front of them in harms way, causing unwanted accidents.
When your wipers are on – so are your headlights.
